Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was raised by an ethnically mixed family. She's English, and her father is Nigerian. She was raised in a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age fourteen. She earned her BA in acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She appeared on stage in numerous productions during her time at school such as King Henry V, as Princess Katherine, and Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe started her acting career through a short film called Storm Damage. Since then, she has appeared as a guest for Teachers, Doctors, Casualty, and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakout came with 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was in the role of Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. Her success has led her to be cast in Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot. She then appeared in six episodes Trexx and Flipside playing the character of Ollie. The ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl was her first appearance in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe was a part of the comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Affect People. Her credits in theatre comprise Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams and Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009, with the drama The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before being removed from The CW. Ashley Davenport, a character in ABC's Revenge drama series, was cast to play Ashley Davenport. Madekwe's exit from the series was confirmed in May 2013. Following two seasons as a main character, she appeared as a guest in the first episode of season 3. From 2014 to the year 2016, she appeared on Salem on the CW as Tituba. Madekwe, her long-time companion, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. Apart from Secret Diary of a Call Girl they have also worked in tandem on Salem and Iddo Goldberg had an appearance with her on that show.
Ashley Leggat, an actress that was nominated two times for a Gemini Award, is a member of the large Hamilton family. Ashley Leggat was a part of Roy and Patty and her other siblings, Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. Ashley's family, which is all sportsmen, played baseball during the summer and played hockey in winters. Ashley didn't walk, instead she would dance. In the age of two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley developed a passion for dancing shortly after she joined Baby Ballet. Ashley continued to perform competitively throughout high school in top divisions such as tap, Jazz, Ballet Pointe, Acrobatics, Pointe Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Hip Hop and many more. Ashley took home the best soloist honor at each major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance among a few.
